The pups began opening their eyes this past weekend (day 11-12), and they are fully open as of a couple days ago. They also began "walking" at the same time... it's really just an adorable little toddle at this point, but they sure do seem to like to take those little legs for a spin!

PUPPIES ARE HERE!
After a very nerve-racking day (for Zoya too!), and almost five hours of labor, we have NINE beautiful and healthy pups! Five boys and four girls. All of them are pretty good sized, between 13-17 ounces each! Zoya has turned out to be a great mom, and is resting contentedly with her brood. I'm pretty tuckered out too, so I'll just leave it at that & let you enjoy the pictures.
Til next time...

(These hot peppers will be gifts for relatives & friends who can stand the heat...I'm way too wimpy!)
Also continued working on the arbor which will be placed over the bench in the flower/herb garden. I'll post pics after it's done and in place.

Garden Records...
Eggplant & potato seeds germinated yesterday. All others are doing very well. Thinned and transplanted cilantro & parsley to pots in my kitchen windowsill this past weekend. Thinned out most of the cole crop veggies that were planted at the beginning of February (broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, cabbage).
Puppies!
Well, not quite yet...but I did get the x-rays done today, and it looks like at least 7 puppies, possibly as many as 9! Zoya is gaining lots of weight (about 5 lbs since my last post below!), which the vet says is good at this stage (healthy puppies!). The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if she starts delivering within the next 24 hours! (She has been "nesting", her temp has dropped, and she's showing other signs of being pretty close.)
Here's her x-ray from today:
