Meet my new stud...

On April 19th, I flew to Colorado to hook up with a very cute guy that I met on the internet. I am pleased to introduce you to the new "man" in my life... MAX!

"Sir Maximillian of Rose Haven" is the newest addition to my Golden family, and will sire future litters once he is old enough. He comes from Hunter's Goldstrike Golden Retrievers (http://www.huntersgoldstrike.com/) in Windsor, CO, about an hour north of Denver. He has won over everyone here at Rose Haven, canines as well as humans! He gets along great with everybody, and is such a smart and obedient little boy! He is already well-adjusted to his crate (even sleeps through the night!), sits on command, walks beautifully on his leash, and snuggles like a pro! He has such a wonderful temperament that I'm even considering training him to be a therapy dog. But I'll cross that bridge later, after all of Zoya's pups have gone to their homes & things settle down here.

In the meantime, here are some pics of Max for you to enjoy...

Looks like Zoya's winning!

Yep, Zoya won!

OK, let's see if Max can beat Mishka...

Puppies are 8 weeks old & goin' home!

The pups turned 8 weeks old yesterday, and started going to their new homes this past weekend. As of today, six of them have gone home with their new families (and are adjusting wonderfully!), and the remaining two will be going home in the coming days. And of course, my Diamond Girl is already home...staying right here with me at Rose Haven!

Here are some pics of them enjoying the doggie yard in the last week... Enjoy!

Chow time!

Puppies' 1st Trip to the Vet!

The pups turned 7 weeks old today, and had their first trip to the vet! They all did great (the vet was so impressed with how well-behaved they were!), and got clean bills of health. They also got their first round of shots & their third de-worming. Now they can play in the backyard with all the big dogs! I'll get some pics of that in the next couple of days, but for now, here are some pics from this last weekend...Enjoy!

Puppies Are 6 Weeks Old!

The pups turned 6 weeks old yesterday... my oh my, where has the time gone?!? I can't believe that in just 2 weeks, they will all be going to their new homes (except for Diamond Girl, of course... she's staying with me!).

We're in full weaning mode now, and the pups have begun to exert their independence over the last few days. They definitely still need each other for play, learning & snuggle-time, but they are trying out new little "adventures" on their own from time to time. They're also getting HUGE! They are between 8-10 pounds now! I wouldn't be surprised if they get to be 12-15 pounds by the time they go home in 2 weeks! (They're gaining 1/4 to 1/3 pound every day!)

Enjoy the pics...

The puppies all have new families!

I am so amazed at how quickly great families were found for all of the puppies, and in only 5 days! Actually, all but one of the pups were spoken for within 48 hours of me placing the online ads! Just three more weeks, and they will be going to their new homes - three to the greater Portland area, one to a town at the base of Mount Hood, one going to the Vancouver, WA area, one to the Eugene, OR area, one to Spokane, WA, and 2 staying here in Newberg (right here at Rose Haven!).

The pups' personalities have really started to emerge this last week, and it has been so much fun to have them interacting with us as much as we are interacting with them. These next three weeks will be a lot of fun (albeit quite busy!) helping the pups in their continued development, socialization, and "pre-training" before they go to their new families. I've really enjoyed this whole process so far... I'm hooked!

Enjoy the pics!
