Pics of Zoya

Here are some random pics of Zoya over the last few days. We're getting close!

Sunday 3/8 - Planted the "greens" seeds outside in the garden
- Parris Island Cos Lettuce
- Buttercrunch Lettuce
- Great Lakes 118 Lettuce
- Red Giant Mustard
- Mizuna
- Bloomsdale Long Standing Spinach
- Dutch Broad Leaved Mache
- Also put in a few more of the peas

Sunday evening 3/8 - Planted more seeds in trays inside
- Oregano
- Garden Huckleberry
- Purple Beauty Bell Pepper
- California Wonder Bell Pepper
- Long Slim Cayenne Pepper
- Orange Habanero Pepper
- Anaheim Chili Pepper
(These hot peppers will be gifts for relatives & friends who can stand the heat...I'm way too wimpy!)

Also continued working on the arbor which will be placed over the bench in the flower/herb garden. I'll post pics after it's done and in place.

Garden Records...

Eggplant & potato seeds germinated yesterday. All others are doing very well. Thinned and transplanted cilantro & parsley to pots in my kitchen windowsill this past weekend. Thinned out most of the cole crop veggies that were planted at the beginning of February (broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, cabbage).

Puppies!

Well, not quite yet...but I did get the x-rays done today, and it looks like at least 7 puppies, possibly as many as 9! Zoya is gaining lots of weight (about 5 lbs since my last post below!), which the vet says is good at this stage (healthy puppies!). The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if she starts delivering within the next 24 hours! (She has been "nesting", her temp has dropped, and she's showing other signs of being pretty close.)

Here's her x-ray from today:

Plants aren't the only things growing at Rose Haven!

As promised, here are some pics of my very pregnant pooch, Princess Zoya. And to think that she still has about 10 days to 2 weeks left! I'll be taking her to the vet on Saturday for a checkup and to get x-rays done so that we can get a puppy count. Can't wait to see how many she's got in there!

Germinated today:

Day 5 - 2/26/09
- Both Shallots
- Yellow Sweet Spanish Onion
- Celery

Kohlrabi (both varieties) germinated today, 2/25 (day 4).
